Callsign Management
You must first configure True Sheets to use any callsign commands.
Assigning Callsigns
To assign commands you must first have completed the configuration of True Sheets and have the bot online and operational. Assigning callsigns is very easy, simply run the /assign
command and select the department you wish to assign to the user. Once selecting a department you will be prompted to select through a list of possible ranks assigned to that department, select the desired rank and await further confirmation.
If all is successful the user will be automatically assigned a callsign inside the department and within the rank selected.
How Does it Work?
When assigning a callsign you must select a department and rank, the department you select has specific data assigned to it, telling the bot which sheet to use. The rank you select tells the bot where to search under the rank row, it will work systematically from the top and work its way done. This is why callsigns are assigned from the highest to lowest value in the rank boundary and why it works from the top, down.
Promoting & Demoting
The concept of promoting and demoting are near the same, but in reverse. When you use the /promote
command it will simply promote the user to the next highest rank in the department and move their callsign to that rank. Using /demote
will move the users callsign down to the next lowest rank and also move their callsign to that rank, applying the same principles as discussed in the How Does it Work category.
Viewing Assignments
Callsigns are also called assignments with True Sheets as its a better way to distinguish between the actual callsign field and other relevant data that is also stored in an assignment, but basically, it means the same thing and should be taken the same way. To view a list of a users callsigns simply run /view_assignments
and mention the user you wish to view.
Deleting Assignments
To delete a users assignment and remove them from the callsign sheet you must run the command /delete_assignment
including the , their assignment inside the database will be automatically removed and the callsign field they occupied in the sheet will also be deleted when this command is ran.
